About Whitney

Nice to meet you.

“Within ourselves lie the stars of our happiness.” - Heinrich Heine

Hi - I’m Whitney Sweeney (she/her/hers). I’m a trauma-informed, somatic life coach and group facilitator.

I’m also: a parent of two young-adults, an animal and nature-lover (I have 2 dogs and have had other little critters and creatures); a writer, language tutor, teacher, and traveler; a creative, cook and baker; a trivia nut, dancer, and music appreciator. I love to read and am on a constant quest to learn new things. I can name that tune in 1 - 2 notes (it’s a great party trick!).

I was married for 23 years and then went through a tough, emotional divorce that rocked me to my core and led me to rethink my life on many levels. Over time and a lot of healing, I began to move toward a life that was emotionally healthier and authentic. I started living more of a life that worked for me. I began to believe in myself and find my inner creativity and playful side that had been hidden for years. And I learned that I could support and help other people believe in themselves, too. Which is why I’m now a life coach. 💛

I’ve had many different careers (my most important being a parent) and worked through difficult family dynamics. I’ve lived in different cities and countries. I’ve processed grief and loss and understand that there is a way through the hurt and pain to a healthy, gentle and even bold, beautiful place. I’ve raised two amazing kids and understand the joys and challenges that each phase brings. I have experience with LGBTQIA+ parenting. All of these life experiences have given me the wonderful gift of a wide and open perspective, which I’m grateful to share with you. I know and have experienced possibility in both the dark and the light.

My somatic life coaching practice draws from a combination of 30+ years of coaching, teaching, consulting, traveling and parenting experiences, helping clients find what makes them happy, live amazing, creative and joyful lives, build healthy relationships with the people they care about, and create safe, open spaces to be who they truly want to be.

I coach with compassion, empathy, intuition and open-mindedness. I am also not afraid to challenge areas where you are stuck. I view coaching as a collaboration and conversation. We work together in processing the areas you want to work on, but I don’t tell you what to do or how to live your life. I help guide you and help you unearth what you deep down already know about your very best self. Life is all about exploration and you get to be the curious explorer in your own life!

I offer:

  • compassion and understanding

  • a space to set it all down

  • support to move forward with grace and love

  • the open door to your amazing, creative, resilient, powerful self

  • a place to be seen and heard without shame or judgment

  • a way forward

I love to coach and it’s a joy to support clients as they make small and big shifts toward long-lasting growth. I am on your side and am here to support and witness your challenges, explorations and transformations.

At your core, you really already know what you want. I’m here to help you find your voice. And I want to hear your story.

I look forward to working with you!
